By ChannelWorld Bureau Mon, Aug 03, 2009

IBM and Tally have announced an agreement to deliver Tally's ERP 9 Gold on IBM's Smart Business platform. IBM claims that the IBM and Tally solution will offer an open, simplified IT experience that reduces the complexity of managing IT and drastically reduces the support and management burden of these solutions with the combined solution 10 times more cost effective for the customer.

IBM says it delivers this solution complete with all the necessary hardware, software, and services tested and optimized so it is up and running quickly. Starting at less than RS 5 lakh, it says it can provide all of the fundamental capabilities needed to run a small or medium business including PBX, email, calendaring and instant messaging.  Tally ERP 9 will provide accounting, finance, inventory management, remote access, statutory compliance capabilities, integrated support centre and security management.  Tally says it also allows for quick customization and extensions on the platform, thereby allowing customers to tailor the product to their specific business requirements. In addition, IBM has said it will stand behind the total solution providing a single point of contact to resolve any technical issues.

"IBM is excited to add this market leading solution to our Smart Business portfolio.  This could be a significant driver of IBM's mid-market solutions business", said Shankar Annaswamy, Regional General Manager, India and South Asia.

“Tally introduced Tally ERP 9 because growing companies need a powerful ERP solution that can grow with them and doesn’t require expensive outlays of funds and IT staffing,” said Bharat Goenka, CEO of Tally. “Tally ERP on the IBM Smart Business platform is a perfect fit for small and medium businesses and an important step to bring business intelligence and powerful solutions at an affordable price.  By teaming with IBM, we will be providing a seamless solution that provides the capabilities our clients' need, without the additional IT cost.”
