Kronos to Increase Channel Focus in India

By Radhika Nallayam Wed, Dec 09, 2009

Kronos, a provider of workforce management solution, is planning to expand its reach in the country by adding vertical-specific partners in various regions. James Thomas, Country Manager, Kronos India told ChannelWorld that the company would be looking at adding at least 20 partners in the coming quarter and would triple this number in the next one year. Currently, the company has a combined sales model wherein it deals directly with most of its enterprise customers. It, however, is planning to move towards a much robust channel-based sales model.

“Our focus verticals are healthcare manufacturing, IT and ITES along with the retail sector. We are also expecting to see huge demand coming from the government sector. So, our next action plan is to identify niche partners in different geographies who focus on these verticals. We will be looking at partners who have an affinity for solution selling rather than just box-pushing. Apart from this, we would prefer if they have experience in selling similar and related solutions,” added Thomas.

The vendor already has an internal channel relationship team in place which would focus on building a channel ecosystem for Kronos. It also has plans to launch partner and training programs once it identifies the right set of partners.

"We are betting big on India and will be making substantial investments to grow our business in the country in the coming days. We believe India is going to be a big market. Our research shows that there is a huge under-penetrated market for workforce management solutions within the enterprise segment itself. So, that itself is a significant opportunity for both Kronos and its partners,” said Aron Ain, CEO, Kronos. The company apparently plans to grow its revenue by ten times in next three years.
