MRO-TEK Launches New Products

By ChannelWorld Bureau Tue, Dec 15, 2009

Networking vendor, MRO-TEK launched three new products at its annual road show in Bangalore. MRO-TEK is conducting its annual road show in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore this month to appraise its clients, partners and franchises of the developments in 2009. Dealing exclusively in products related to first and last mile access racks, MRO-TEK has launched WAVES, a managed last mile access rack, a G.SHDSL bis modem called WITE LITE and FYCUS, long range Ethernet.

The WAVES product has 2 STM uplink ports, which the company claims will enable its partners to commit better Service Level Agreement (SLA) to their customers. Elaborating on its features, company sources claimed, WAVES reduces the need for excessive cabling and reduces points of failure, resulting in better efficiency. The product is able to provide multi-service fiber or copper from the same chassis and has a higher capacity than any of MRO-TEK’s previous products. The product enables partners to offer differentiated services such as E1, V.35 and Ethernet, according to the company.

Providing high-speed data connectivity over a single unconditioned twisted copper pair is the single most prominent feature of another newly launched product, WITE LITE. This product also has a modular format which allows E1, V.35 or Ethernet cards to be inserted as required. An integrated version where all three cards can be inserted in a single box is also available, said company sources.

The products have been built with a view to offer cost advantages, which officials said would enable customers to take care of the capex cost. “We have configured a range of products leveraging our experience of technology and application over the years,” said S Narayanan, Chairman and MD, MRO-TEK.

The last product introduced was FYCUS, which is long range Ethernet and supports up to 500 meters at 100 Mbps full duplex speed. MRO-TEK officials further said that FYCUS enables internet access over CAT 5 copper and is competitively priced. The new range is aimed at telecom carriers, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and enterprises.
