Delhi-based PC Solutions encompasses a proven and established competency to set up large IT infrastructure with leading-edge products and technologies. Established in 1988, the solution provider has been offering SLA-based facility management services, help desk management, mail management, network management, vendor management, and backup & restore services to customers. “We are a process-driven organization with a mature SLA driven 24/7 infrastructure services catering to large organization,” affirms Devendra Taneja, CEO, PC Solutions.

The large in-house resource pool of trained teams on HP, IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, EMC, Symantec, and Citrix helps make deeper inroads in the enterprise accounts, he adds. Backed by its branch locations at Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, the company is quite buoyant about technology domains like enterprise backup software, Microsoft Office SharePoint, information security solution, and and VMware and Citrix solutions . “We also focus on special business projects on a need basis,” he says. With a sound finance, experienced management team, and compliance with the law of the land, the company believes in high services and technical strengths as its core strengths to survive.

Few years back, the company saw the need to upscale services profile. “This was the first trigger to diversify our business operations. Business risk mitigation added to diversification urgency and we now need to race and be ahead of pack,” he adds. The company preaches realistic concepts. ‘Promise what you can deliver and deliver what is promised’ is the company’s success mantra. “Improvement is a continuous process.” Honesty and accountability on the right side of law is the most vital aspect for the company.

The company’s emphasis on service approach is evident from the fact that almost three-fourth of the employee strength is engaged in technical tasks. It invests in technical and soft skills training, besides offering quality training and certification courses on vendors like Microsoft, Novell, and Cisco. “We provide equal opportunity providing value and respect for each individual. With about half of the company revenues generated from servers and storage, the company is further keen to explore opportunities in the field of virtualization. PC Solutions is also aggressive on blade server concept for customers who are looking for server consolidation. The company explores every opportunity of growth by entering untouched segments and intends to expand offerings around emerging technologies like UC, RIM, and SaaS.

INTERVIEW

Devendra Taneja, CEO, PC Solutions feels a credible customer base is an important criterion to move ahead in today’s dynamic IT market.

Which focused service offerings is PC Solutions providing to its customers?
TANEJA:
IT infrastructure integration and virtualization of servers and storage are our popular offerings. We are also deploying solutions around MS 2008 (HyperV), exchange and domain consolidation, SharePoint portal, SCCM, EPM customization and deployment. Additionally SCOM deployment, unified deployment and SLA based 7*24*365 FMS are our focus areas, as customers today don’t want to bear the costs of internal IT administrators. Security audit, policy consultancy and implementation are also witnessing a good amount of traction.

How have company revenues grown over past three years from its services arm?
TANEJA:
We have seen an increase in our services revenues including a CAGR of 16 and 15 percent for FY 08-09 and FY 07-08 respectively. Over the years absolute values have increased and the composition has changed. FMS is also getting commoditized. Consultancy and deployment of security related services, virtualization linked with high availability, domain consolidation and UC are high return services for PC Solutions.  

What is your roadmap for services like RMS and SaaS?  Do you feel Indian enterprises are ready for these offerings?
TANEJA:
We have been involved in the Build, Manage and Transfer model of RMS for the enterprise segment. Currently, we are also using remote project roll out options. It has been our experience that the SMB segment is inclined towards RMS and remote hosting of applications. PC Solutions is currently in the process of ISO 27000 and ISO 20000 certifications followed by the setting up of a Level 2 datacenter. 

Facility Management Services (FMS) is considered a goldmine for solution providers. What is your opinion?
TANEJA:
References from our customers and PC’s experience of 15 years differentiates us from other SIs. FMS is a growing market and can be profitable only if agreements are understood, negotiated and executed.  

Are third party alliances with other solution providers viable for you? How do you intend to expand your geographic reach?
TANEJA:
This model is meaningful only if competencies, geographies and ambitions do not overlap over a timeline of three years. We are keen on expanding our direct presence backed by Remote Solution Deployment and delivery.

On the IT solutions front, which technologies are you focusing on to add value to enterprise customers?
TANEJA:
Business Intelligence, virtualization, UC, security, remote solution deployment and Green IT initiatives are technologies we are looking at. Opex based technologies like SaaS are also being explored. Additionally, financial leasing is a good option in these times for enterprises and SMB’s.
