Tushar Sighat, Vice President - Operations, Cyberoam -India & SAARC

Cyberoam diversified into product line of DLP, report & logging appliances than core business of UTM? What is the rationale?

open/close

Sighat: Security concerns of the enterprise world are much beyond gateway level. End Point security is becoming a major issue. With a large installed base of UTMs across major verticals, we received feedback on these issues through our partners. Cyberoam DLP is making good inroads across BFSI, education and Government. The purpose is to become a comprehensive security vendor as per market demands and technology trends. Our Partners have more security solutions in their basket to succeed as a holistic security partner for existing customers and greenfield projects too.

Are you optimistic about the latest offering - Cyberoam –iView ? Why?

open/close

Sighat: Yes. SMBs and enterprises are today concerned about logging-reporting needs across multi locations and multiple devices. Cyberoam iView appliances offer rapid integration with multiple network devices across geographical locations, delivering a single view of network activity to customers backed by terabyte storage and data redundancy .Cyberoam iView is available as an open source logging and reporting solution that helps organizations with high levels of security, data confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

With more product offerings, do you now position yourselves against MNC security brands for enterprise accounts?

open/close

Sighat: Enterprise space is quite crowded and much saturated by many security vendors and their partners. We continue to focus on SMB/SME marketplace though enterprise space is also on our radar (for high end UTMs, SSL VPN).Apart from distributor Redington, we engage and enable most of the top system integrators across India including certification and training programs. We also follow sub distributor model to ensure partners have access to stocks in their regions to reach wide spread SMBs.

Cyberoam is perceived to be over distributed as UTM market becomes commoditized across Indian SMBs. Comment.

open/close

Sighat: UTM market is witnessing lot of innovations and technology revamp to make it a commodity product. Cyberoam UTMs are ipv6 ready for the future. With the increase in demand for security solutions, we have not heard about multiple partners jostling for an order bid at enterprise end. We are opening doors to partners for opportunities in security business. The 12 city road show ‘Success Together’ has been conducted in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi and will continue in cities like Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad in the next month. The aim is to empower the partners about product roadmap than appoint more partners. We intend to reach more to tier 2 and tier 3 cities where SMBs have started deploying advanced security solutions beyond Anti Virus solution.

Any plans to engage with service providers and MSPs across security space?

open/close

Sighat: We intent to have cloud ready offerings in our portfolio as market get more mature for such emerging technologies. We are also in talks with ISPs /MSPs to offer UTM as a service, than our existing perpetual license model. This Opex model will infuse huge cost savings for the customers especially SMBs. Partners or service providers would also benefit from annuity business. Multiple routes to market will further swell the demand across buoyant   security space.
