Comguard, a part of Spectrum Group, Dubai, and a value added distributor (VAD) of global leading networking and security products across Middle East, Africa and India has been appointed as the new value-added Master distributor by gateProtect, a leading provider of IT security solutions in the area of network protection. As part of this partnership, Comguard Networks, in India will distribute gateProtect’s IT network security products across India. This will enable Comguard to expand its existing IT security product portfolio.

Steffen Mackardt, Vice President of Sales, gateProtect said that “We are confident that Comguard will help us in expanding our channel engagement strategy and will also enable us to expand our reach to new geographies where it has strong presence in the country.’’

Commenting about the product offerings of gateProtect, Steffen Mackardt further added, “The Next Generation Firewalls Appliances from gateProtect are characterised by optimal scalability, security and performance. Thanks to a unique and patented eGUI ® technology, gateProtect sets standards when it comes to the configuration of modern security systems. gateProtect’s eGUI® technology raises operating security and efficiency to a previously unattained level. Furthermore, gateProtect is the only manufacturer worldwide to implement the ISONORM 9241 standard.”

Commenting on the partnership, Ajay Singh Chauhan, CEO, Spectrum Group said, ‘‘We are delighted to partner with gateProtect for distributing gateProtect’s next generation products in India. It will provide us an opportunity to offer quality IT network security products to our partners across the Indian subcontinent.”

He further added, “In India, the UTM industry has evolved significantly in the last few years. UTM vendors’ relentless efforts have brought breakthrough innovations in this industry. gateProtect, as one of the key players in the UTM market, its latest products and technologies will surely create an everlasting impact on their customers and gain immense recognition in no time.”

Unified Threat Management (UTM) is a comprehensive solution that has recently emerged in the network security industry and has gained widespread importance as a primary network gateway defense solution for organizations. The goal of UTM is to simplify the overall security solution despite the growing scope and rising complexity of the security problem. The main benefit of UTM solutions, when all key security functions are activated, is to provide a comprehensive protection against Internet attacks and counter multi-level attacks or blended threats.

Comguard Networks relies on its strong channel support to penetrate into the UTM market in India. Our extensive network of resellers will enable us to extend the reach of gateProtect’s overall product line. As a channel-oriented security vendor, Comguard closely works with its partners by conducting training camps, awareness campaigns, cross vendor promotions, road shows, reseller meets, technical seminars and conferences which will enable our channel partners to derive the best approach to position gateProtect’s  products in the Indian market and meet the targets.
