NetApp, a provider of storage and data management solutions, announced the appointment of Harish Arora to the role of vice president of engineering. In this critical engineering management role, Harish will lead ‘WARP’ Development engineering - a team focused on the development of Data ONTAP file system, data reliability, high availability, and non-disruptive operations.

An IT veteran with twenty years of experience in system-level software product development and engineering management, Harish brings with him a combination of skill sets – a proven track record of building products to meet global customer needs and encouraging a disciplined approach towards execution – that reinforce NetApp’s commitment to deliver excellence and enable customer success.

“NetApp has established itself as a global leader in the storage industry with its innovative data management technologies in Data ONTAP that include file system, data reliability, high availability, and non-disruptive operations,” said Tony Chang, VP Engineering, “Harish is ideally suited to serve the key engineering leadership role in our NetApp Bangalore office to lead a world-class development team responsible for designing and delivering next generation innovations in Data ONTAP that’s flash- accelerated and cloud-integrated.”

Correspondingly, Deepak Visweswaraiah, Managing Director (MD), NetApp India R&D, said, “I am delighted to have Harish join the NetApp family. His appointment is a testimony to NetApp’s growing focus to drive key roles and responsibilities from the India R&D center. Given his experience in engineering, ownership and delivery of products, we look forward to Harish to drive product strategy, manage large teams and maintain rigor around execution. Under his leadership our storage efficiency technologies are set for a very busy FY15. I wish him a rewarding career at NetApp.”

Sharing his thoughts on his role Harish said, “I consider myself very fortunate to join NetApp at a time where it’s at its current phase of growth. With a winning innovation portfolio, customer-focused engineering and a culture that fosters innovation, we are well poised to gain both mind share and market share. The opportunity ahead is immense and I am really excited to lead the WARP team – the bedrock of NetApp Data ONTAP.” Harish added, “The way I see myself making a difference is by motivating the team to focus on execution excellence and world-class innovation.”
