Nexon Asia-Pacific has become a McAfee partner in a move that goes some way to supporting the cyber security software vendor's promise to make a bigger channel play in 2017.
The new partnership is set to let the Australian cloud and managed service provider bolster its managed security services portfolio to address the local cybersecurity market. The deal will focus on endpoint security initially, with Nexon planning to further integrate and embed McAfee’s products into its solution offerings.
McAfee channel account manager, Adam Boreham, said that collaborating with Nexon to provide security services to customers in the age of digital transformation would help make organisations more cyber-resilient.
“The threat landscape is always changing and managed service providers, such as Nexon, with their specialised industry and domain knowledge will be in the best position to offer customers not only the befitting solution, but most importantly knowledge and experience from… McAfee,” he said.
In April, McAfee Asia-Pacific chief of channel & alliances, Jagdish Mahapatra, was quoted saying that following the move of the company to become independent, it will be more nimble and more agile and “easily adapt to the new dynamic security landscape”.
"It is a great outcome for our channel partners and end customers to solve the new challenges with our solutions,” he said previously.
"The appetite for services is quite mature in countries like Australia and Singapore as the customers see that value and hence our channel partners too view it as a positive business cycle.”
He also mentioned at the time that it will incentivise partners for migrating their end point customers to the Dynamic endpoint threat defence, was looking to broaden the tier two partner play in the market, and will continue to invest in professional services for channels to make more money in this business.
Nexon Asia-Pacific managing director, Barry Assaf, said the company's partnership with McAfee will provide the company with more tools and resources to enhance its solutions developed for vertical industry, and customers’ security posture and resilience to attack.
“As a managed service provider, we talk to customers in the field often and we know that cyber security is no longer about who will face the threat but rather how customers can aptly respond to threats when they appear.
“There will always be possibilities of vulnerabilities in any Internet-enabled device, which hackers exploit to gain access to private data and information,” he added.
