SAP is on the hunt for a new global channel chief following Rodolpho Cardenuto's departure from the vendor after 10 years with the German software vendor.

Cardenuto joined SAP in 2008 as president for Latin America. After four and a half years he was promoted to president of Americas being later, in 2014, promoted to president, global partner organisation.

"SAP has 18,300 partners worldwide as of the third quarter of this year thanks in no small part to Rodolpho Cardenuto and his initiatives," the vendor said in a statement.

As president of SAP’s Global Partner Organisation, Cardenuto was instrumental in expanding SAP’s channel efforts which included boosting software sales through partners, growing the roster of partners in the company’s PartnerEdge program and the Cloud Choice platform through which partners sell SAP cloud applications.

"These boasted sales and partnerships have helped SAP expand their already extensive global reach," SAP stated.

Cardenuto has more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry. One of his first jobs was with a telecommunications company called Vesper, where he was the COO and CMO for Brazil.

He has also held roles at HP, where he was the vice president of sales for Latin America and general manager for seven years, prior to joining SAP.

According to SAP he left to pursue his next endeavour.

"Cardenuto’s departure came as a surprise to SAP as an organisation as well as a number of SAP’s leading channel partners," the company said in a statement.

The company is now searching for his replacement but has not provided a timetable for this.
