Symantec’s Ganesan doubles as India channel chief for Blue Coat

Ramanand Kambli, responsible for India channel business at Blue Coat has quit the company.

 

Symantec is accelerating its integration roadmap with the acquired company Blue Coat Systems.

The latest development is the consolidation of the channel ecosystems of both security companies in India.

India Channel chief Ramanand Kambli at Blue Coat has quit the parent company Symantec.

Ramanand who has held the position of director, channels, India and SAARC at Blue Coat since 2013 has recently put in his papers.

"We would like to confirm that Ram has decided to leave Symantec to pursue other opportunities," said Symantec's official statement.

Security giant Symantec closed the acquisition of Blue Coat Systems in August of 2016.

There will be a single India channel chief at Symantec now as expected with the integration of partner programs and product roadmap of Symantec and Blue Coat.

When enquired if Ganesan Arumugam at Symantec India will get an additional role with channel ecosystem of Blue Coat, the official statement at Symantec confirmed, Ganesan will be the Channels head in India for the combined entity (Symantec and Blue Coat).

Ganesan has been the director, partner and commercial sales for Symantec India since November 2015.

"Symantec’s success is tightly linked to the power of the channel and nurturing stronger partnerships. We have taken the first step by streamlining our channel operations, making it easier to do business with Symantec," said the official statement by Symantec.

The new Secure One program makes doing business with Symantec simpler, more predictable and more profitable for partners, according to the statement.

In his role as India channel head for Symantec, Ganesan will manage both channels’ operations of Symantec and heritage Blue Coat.

Would a single channel chief for both security companies’ lead to more business and good margins for channel partners in India?

Only time will tell.
