Milind Dhongade, Director, Computer Home, says, “We firmly believe in not restricting our focus on just one arm but developing all the three arms of software, hardware, and services.” That’s the policy that Dhongade credits to his successful sailing even through rough waters. In the current slowdown, it is this prior experience that is keeping him confident and fueling his growth plans. He says, “The slack of 1999 taught us how to manage business, reduce cost inputs, and, more importantly, manage the impact of reduced cost. We’re now leveraging the same experience to sail through this time.”
The new focus area is now catering to the high-end technical services in the niche market. “With existing markets reaching near saturation, we’ve realized that there is huge scope in the high-end technical servicing. Customers own huge infrastructure, and managing this skillfully is the need of the hour,” Dhongade points out.
On the other hand, the product portfolio continues to surge by adding security devices to the offerings. “We have also started providing the security devices such as CCTVs and surveillance cameras giving us another opportunity to grow.”
The company has also started eyeing growth in the emerging markets, by tapping new geographical locations such as Gulf and Commonwealth countries. “In line with our policy, we plan to cater to all three expanses of hardware, software, and services to all these locations,”says Dhongade.
