Meridian Infotech
By Yogesh Gupta Wed, Apr 01, 2009By continuously understanding the customer’s needs, Meridian Infotech has built a long-standing relationship with its customers. This has helped the company grab 80 percent of its revenues. “By understanding their business-critical requirements, we provide appropriate solutions, which translates into maximum return on their investments,” says Devang Jasani, CEO, Meridian Infotech. The company derives a significant 20 percent of revenues from its services arm. “We establish ourselves as a business partner and not as a transaction- oriented vendor,” asserts 37-year-old Jasani. The solution provider derives maximum revenues from enterprises, 15 percent from mid-markets and remaining from SMBs.
Meridian’s key differentiation lies in its ability to manage remote location greenfield/brownfield projects. “Our deep technical knowledge and implementation skills help us achieve the target of time-bound project completion,” he says. The company provides products for POC to check the feasibility and viability of recommended solutions without any commercial obligation.
Meridian bagged its first big order after two years of hardship from a greenfield unit of Aditya Birla Group.
“The decision maker’s confidence in our technical strength helped us complete the project on time and overcome competition,” he adds. In the current economy, Meridian has initiated a proactive step in proposing a viable solution to reduce the capex and opex for its current and new customers. “We plan to pursue a rental model for IT infrastructure hardware (switches, routers, converters, etc.). We would propose competitive and flexible financing scheme from principals to fulfill the capex requirement of customer in this slowdown,” says Jasani.
Focusing on the mid-markets and SMEs, the company intends to explore unified video conferencing and converged solutions for voice and data, besides security and storage solutions. Meridian also has plans to increase its point of presence in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh apart from doubling its headcount by 2010. “We plan to focus more on facility maintenance, strategic outsourcing of IT infrastructure, and lease and rental of IT infrastructure equipment,” says Jasani.
