There are some interesting strategies in place for Insight Business Machines. The two new initiatives that the company has prioritized to work on are as follows:
1. Customized software development of an application for managing the activities of Service Desk. Keeping the aspects of ITIL based services operations, they have developed and implemented their new application ServU. Using this application, the day to day service calls can be tracked and also give the 360 view of services operations. Besides tracking the operations, this application provides several auto generated alerts/dashboards/notifications to expedite the resolution process.
2. As a part of the company’s new offerings on business analytics/intelligence and artificial intelligence, the organization implemented the BI solution in its own environment to cover finance and HRMS applications. Soon the other aspects of operations like CRM, services, procurement and logistics, training and certifications etc., would be brought on the analytics platform.
During the implementation process, several alternative platforms for BA/BI & AI are evaluated and certain skillsets are developed. The company is capitalizing on these developed skillsets and expertise to capture opportunities and getting in the analytics space.
