Premier 100: MDM is a Rising Trend for Channels

ChannelWorld India spoke to the winners of the 2016 Premier 100 Special Award in the mobility space on the emerging trends in the mobility market.

Today, a mobile-first approach is being embraced by many organizations. They are reviewing their technologies to make organizational cultures and roles mobile friendly.

According to a report by IDC, enterprise mobility will be a $1,871 million market by 2017 in India.

India’s enterprise mobility market is gaining a lot of momentum. There are many trends in the market. “Currently, there is heavy adoption of mobility by pharmaceutical companies in order to have a pulse on the market. It is used in organizations by the field force to perform day-to-day forecasting, which increases productivity and efficiency,” says Piyush Vibhakar, managing director, Magnamious Systems.

Jiten Mehta, director, Magnamious Systems, feels that mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) are key trends because data—like contacts, emails and confidential banking information—resides on the mobile. Any loss will be a big blow to the company. He added, “Mobility has become a key trend as everyone wishes to operate their smart devices—tablet, smartphone or laptop—from anywhere.”

Anoop Pai Dhungat, MD, Galaxy Office Automation feels that there is demand for enterprise mobile content management, workflow management and MDM solutions. At the same time, highlighting the future of mobility, he says, “In the days to come, there will be a lot of demand to create applications like leave management and attendance management.”
