Barun Lala is India channel chief for Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Barun has been with HP for over eighteen years handling different senior management roles in servers, storage and networking of the enterprise division for the tech giant.
In his last role at HP, Barun was director of storage division for HP India.
Barun Lala’s designation will be director indirect sales at Hewlett Packard Enterprise India confirmed an official statement by HPE India. Barun will head Channels and SMB for Enterprise Group, Hewlett Packard Enterprise India, the statement added.
In this new extended role, Barun will now manage the entire enterprise channel ecosystem of the newly formed HPE.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is the enterprise company formed from HP split this year.
Barun based out of Bangalore will head channels and SMB for the enterprise group at Hewlett Packard Enterprise India.
Barun joined HP in 1997 as regional manager at Digital (which got acquired by Compaq in 1998 and the merged entity bought by HP in the same year). Before joining HP, Barun was regional sales manager for Wipro from 1990 to 1997.
“The key priorities for India market will be to scale up skillsets of enterprise partners, ensure partner satisfaction and further grow SMB business, said Barun Lala, Director – Indirect Sales, Hewlett Packard Enterprise India.
There would be additional impetus to increase portfolio sales for value products – especially storage, networking and Aruba products as per him.
My prime objective in this role would be elevating Hewlett Packard Enterprise as the preferred brand amongst enterprise partners and their customers in India, said Barun Lala at HPE India.
