Riverbed lays off its sales team in APJ including India

Riverbed is simply moving to a partner resourced model in certain international markets to help scale our business globally, according to a statement by Riverbed. 

Riverbed has changed its sales GTM across APJ region.

Riverbed - The Digital Performance Company has moved from a ‘direct to customer’ model spearheaded by their sales representatives in the region to a partner led model in dozen-plus countries in APJ, according to reports. 

Riverbed sales team in these countries have been asked to leave within few weeks or its been implemented with immediate effect in India. 

We plan to continue to make investments in India and the impact to India market was directed at a small number of sales field representatives in the market as we are moving to a partner resourced model with partner representation.

Responding to a query about Riverbed’s future focus for APJ and India, Riverbed mentioned in an exclusive statement to IDG, "Riverbed is continuing to operate in India and APJ. We are simply moving to a partner resourced model with partner representation in certain International markets to enable Riverbed to scale our business globally."

"Riverbed will continue to drive expansion and growth in these markets, while ensuring our current customers remain well served through our strong partner ecosystem.”

Riverbed remains committed to the APJ market, and we will continue to support customers and deliver industry-leading Digital Experience Management and Digital Networking solutions, mentioned the statement. 

In particular to the focus on India market with the new model, the company statement said "We will continue to have key departments such as Engineering, Customer Success, Tech Support, IT and HR among others located in India as we continue to make investments in India."

The New Riverbed GTM in APJ

-Moving to a partner resourced model with partner representation in certain International markets to scale its business.

-A global exec to be appointed who will oversee these markets, including strategy, execution and ensuring customer success.

-Continue to drive expansion and growth, while ensuring current customers remain well served.

-Riverbed remains committed to APJ market as it continues to support customers and deliver industry-leading Digital Experience Management and Digital Networking solutions.

-The key departments such as Engineering, Customer Success, Tech Support, IT and HR among others continue to operate in India.

The new model across APJ will now be driven completely through partners (distributors and channel partners). Riverbed is putting in place an executive to oversee these markets, including strategy, execution and ensuring customer success with this model, said the company's statement.

Responding to the total number of sales executives being laid off across APJ with the new partner led model, the company statement said, we are not releasing specific figures related to the organizational changes

Riverbed is also building out to scale its business and provide excellent customer service and support.
