Sundar Balasubramanian is India country manager at Check Point

Former VMware channel chief, Sundar Balasubramanian, has been appointed as the country manager at Check Point India.

Sundar Balasubramanian will be the new India country manager for Check Point. 

Balasubramanian after a five year stint left VMware recently as India channel chief. 

He was also the commercial sales leader for VMware India.

Balasubramanian will take over the role of Harsh Marwah who recently quit Check Point after a short two year stint.

When IDG India enquired on the confirmation of Sundar Balasubramanian joining Check Point Software Technologies as India country manager, the company’s official statement said, “We do not share or discuss matters pertaining to hiring and human resources for confidentiality reasons.”

Balasubramanian is expected to join Check Point as new India country manager in the third week of August 2019.  

Industry reports suggest that he will resume his new role at Check Point from 21 August. 

Balasubramanian is expected to report to APJ Chief Sharat Sinha at Check Point Software Technologies.

Former VMware executive, Sharat Sinha, joined as the vice president for Asia Pacific and Japan at Check Point in February 2019.

Having worked with industry leaders such as EMC, IBM and Microsoft before joining VMware in 2015, Balasubramanian has almost three decades of diverse sales, business and partner leadership experience in the IT industry.

Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu continues his fifteen year plus stint with Check Point Software Technologies. Based out of Bangalore; Bhaskar is the regional director, South Asia at Check Point which includes India region. 

Since a few years, Check Point has been emphasising on cloud security solutions with CloudGuard for the fast-changing customer demands in modern security landscape.
