Wipro’s Rishad Premji is the new NASSCOM chairman

Wipro’s board member and Chief Strategy Officer, Rishad Premji appointed as the chairman of NASSCOM for 2018-19.

Rishad Premji has been appointed as the chairman of the IT industry body, NASSCOM. Keshav R Murugesh, CEO of WNS Global is the vice chairman. Premji succeeds Raman Roy, chairman and MD of Quatrro Global Services. Roy was the chairman for 2017-18.

On Premji’s appointment, NASSCOM tweeted: “We welcome Rishad Premji, Chairman, and @Keshav_Murugesh, vice chairman! President @debjani_ghosh and the NASSCOM Family look forward to supporting them, as we continue to catalyze & transform India's #technology industry together.”

I look forward to working closely with NASSCOM’s multiple and versatile teams, and continuing our endeavors to foster growth in changing times,” said Rishad Premji, chairman, NASSCOM.

Further, he also added that we live in exciting and interesting times for technology that present a huge opportunity for growth.

NASSCOM, recently, has been completely invested in the digitization space and has reiterated time and again on the importance of re-skilling and up-skilling in the IT space. Thus, it remains to be seen the new leadership’s work towards the goals.
